Is this an Immodium I see before me?

I had a leisurely day planned today. Sleep in (or, in my case, lie in), breakfast at Joma, some serious journal writing, the acquisition of noodle soup and then elephant riding in the afternoon before I climbed Mt Phousi and then went shopping in the awesome night market.

I wasn't feeling great when I woke up but shrugged it off as hangover from being so busy the day before. Limped around the corner to Joma and had my coffee; writing in my journal for an hour or so a I slowly lumped down in my chair and tried to resist the urge to run back to the room and go back to sleep.

I had a sore throat but decided I was dehydrated - easy thing to do in this heat. When I saw Jay at the hotel at ten I told him I wasn't feeling great but was definitely definitely going elephant riding .

Then Alex came by and said she wasn't going elephant riding because she wasn't feeling well with a sore throat and upset stomach and I thanked her profusely, piked on the elephants and slept for five hours. I got up at 3pm for something to eat (the elusive noodle soup for 15,000 kip) then fell back to sleep.

When I woke up, I was sicker. Much sicker. All my plans of elephants, climbing Mt Phousi to watch the sunset and then shopping for gifts in the night market were gone. I was too tired to get out of bed unless it was absolutely necessary. And as the evening wore on, it was increasingly necessary.

Lucky I bought Immodium. And Gastrolyte. And Ibuprofen. Lucky me.
