The Luang Prabang night markets were heaving when I came out of the dancing. I would have liked to shop but have scheduled that in for another night. For now, it was about 8pm and we'd already had a long day so I was up for dinner, a few drinks and bed. Of course, being the trip I'm on, it was a great deal of dinner, many drinks and a stumble home.
Following a recommendation, we took much time and effort tracking down the Laos Laos Garden on the other side of Mt Phousi. So glad we did!
While the food here was not as good as other places we've eaten and the service was... interesting... the location, the ambience, the location was fantastic! It's highly recommended. We also got a shot of Laos Laos, the local rice wine, which is pretty potent.
We ordered far too much food including yellow curries, the necessity of Laarb and some other local dish that we somehow ordered two of - one with noodles and one without.
Then we drank a cocktail and a bottle of wine and at this stage, while everyone totttered off to the excellent Utopia Bar, I decided I'd had a big day and headed off home. I was feeling unusually tired.
Such an awesome day. Three blog entries worth.
